Broward street sweeper runs off the road

A Broward County street sweeper driver ran off the road and flipped over this morning in the westbound lane of Perimeter Road and Lee Wagner Boulevard near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The road was closed for several hours, but reopened after 8 a.m.
The driver, Lawrence Tropper, 66, of Tamarac was taken to Broward General Medical Center in serious condition.
Day 1 of journalism school: who, what, when, where, why and how. What caused this street sweeper to flip? Why did it take numerous hours to remedy? How is the driver currently?
